Front Cover Magazine Information
I have decided to call my magazine P.M.C. These three letters stand for pop, music, culture and they have been seen commonly when Lady GaGa has worn her special sunglasses that show these words in her iconic 'Poker Face' video. The main image of my music magazine, will be of an artist or band, but if i cannot get them as a main image then i will get some of friends to dress up as an artist or a band. The kicker is going to be the artists name and a quote that the artist has said, which will be seen in the double page spread as the double page spread will be about that quote.
There are going to be staglines at the both sides of the magazine, one of the sides, possibly the right will have more words on the stagline than the left to create an effect and to not make it look as if the writing is crowded.

Analysing a Double Page Spread
The purpose of this article, is so Lilly Allen's fans and people that are not her fans can know exactly what she is really like behind all of the things that the media have said about her. The title of the article is "PEOPLE THINK I'M AN ATTENTION SEEKER, BUT I'M JUST HONEST". A dramatic effect comes from this title to the audience, because Lilly Allen's fans want to know wherther or not she is an attention seeker and why is she sometimes honest when she knows that the press would write comments that she might not like about her. The conventions that have ben used is a quote from Lilly and capital letters and this is good, because the reader will know that Lilly Allen said this, instead of someone just printing this, because then it makes the article more intresting and intriguing, because the reader wants to know what Lilly's argument about her being an attention seeker. The picture to the text ratio is small and this is good, because it stands out and there is not a gab in between.
The image that has been used is of Lilly is big and this makes the double page spread look unprofessional and messy, although the image stands out there are other images of Lilly Allen that will stand out.

Contents Page Analysis
The layout of this contents page, looks like boring and bland. It looks like the designer copied this design layout from newspapers, which does not make it look unique and professional. Also the layout has been set so the writing is on the right (one side) and the pictures are on the left (one side). This does not make the contents page interesting, it makes the reader think that the rest of the magazine is going to be boring. Adding to this, there is also limited information on the contents page. For example: the designer could put more information in about what is going to be inside the magazine.
There are not that many things that make the magazine sell it. The only thing that would make me wan to buy it is the information about Lady GaGa. There is nothing that makes the magazine appear exclusive. Yes, there are new releases that the magazine has written about, but that does not make the magazine seem exclusive. Something like an exclusive with Lady GaGa about her upcoming new album 'Born This Way' is more exclusive and intriguing.
There are three images on the contents page and they all of concerts. They are all of concerts that pop artists have been to and this keeps to the genre of the magazine perfectly, because the magazine's music genre is pop.
There are no linguistic features that persuade the reader to buy the magazine. The magazine is not in slang and it does not talk to the reader it talks to itself.
The captions that have been used to anchor the pictures are in an angle and a particular moment. For example: on one of the pictures there is a person playing the guitar. This is striking and it looks unique and good.
All of the features on the magazine are easy to locate by using the contents page. It is straight forward which is really, really good.

Analyse of Magazine 3
The genre of music from this magazine is pop and i know this because the image on the magazine is Lady GaGa and she is a pop star. The target audience are young people, such as teenagers and adults. I can tell this, because these type of people are Lady GaGa's fans. The main image is of Lady GaGa and this relates to the genre of the music, because Lady GaGa is a pop star. She is the Queen of pop. The image is framed around the straplines and around some pink bubbles. This has a dramatic effect, because the magazine stands out. It looks professional and even though it looks girly, many boys and men will still buy this magazine no matter what the color scheme suggests. The whole of Lady GaGa's body is included and that is a good thing, because then you can see her outfit, her body, which stands out and makes the magazine look good, professional, unique and different. The bottom of Lady GaGa's feet and legs have been left out, but that is fine because if those were included then we would not be able to see Lady GaGa's hair and face. The outfit that Lady GaGa has is a bubble jumpsuit, the make up is bold, elegant and it stands out. There are however, no props. The cues that they bring are that, it looks good, warn. professional, unique, fashion, interesting and approachable. This is because of the make-up and the clothes.
The colours that have been used are pink, white and grey. Grey is in the masthead, the white is in the straplines and the pink is the background and this reflects on the bubbles. This creates the mood of the magazine to be exciting and good, because all of these colours are warm and they stand out.
The magazine is called Rollingstone and this to me reflects the target audience as being adults and teenagers, which also reflects as the content to be for these two age groups, so the content will be modern and young.
The typeface that has been used is big, bold and some of it is small. This is good as even though some of the typeface is small, it still stands out, looks professional, modern and interesting. On the masthead the typeface is big and bold and this is god, because the mast head needs to stand out and it does with this typeface.
The copy has been placed at the side of the magazine and at the top of the front cover. The size is large and small and this is very important, because if you have all of the straplines large then the magazine will look crowded and messy and that will look unprofessional, but since some of the straplines are small and some are big and that makes the magazine look neat, professional and very interesting.

Analyse of Magazine 2
The genre of this music is pop, as you can see clearly from the image, because Beyonce is a well known pop star, also on the strap line there are references to artists that there are stories about inside the magazine and they are all pop stars. The target audience for this magazine is going to be teenagers and adults, because Beyonce is known all around the world and many of her fans are teenagers and adults. Also, on the subheadings there are artists names that mainly have fans that are adults and teenagers. Adding to this, there is a kicker which is a quote from Beyonce states that she wants to be an icon, and a lot of teenagers want to be like Beyonce and want her as an icon.
The main image is Beyonce and she is a pop singer, so that's how that relates to the genre of the music. The image is framed around the subheading and the mast head. This has a strong effect, because the magazine then looks professional, unique and attractive. The face Beyonce is included as that is good, because you want to see the artist, not just their body, because then the magazine will look boring and it would not look approachable. On the right of the magazine on the mast head Beyonce's fingers have been left out, but this is good, because, the masthead covers it and that makes it look, good, professional and it also stands out. The image of Beyonce has been moved to the side, to the right and this makes the magazine look dull and boring, because the other shoulder is missing and it does not make the magazine, look good. It just looks plain.
Beyonce is not wearing a lot of make up, she probably has some foundation on, she does have lip gloss and some eye shadow on, but other than that there is nothing else. This has a dramatic effect, because it makes the image look boring and plain. The image is the heart of the magazine, but it looks as if the designers have not considered that. The clothes that Beyonce is wearing does not look good, she is an icon, she is meant to look, good and sexy. She should be wearing something that shows off her body, because that's what the readers want to see.
The colours that have been used are grey, red, yellow, blue, black and white. The grey and black stand out more, which makes the magazine look plain, boring and unprofessional. The colours do not contribute that much to the mood of the image. The mood of the image is calm, whereas the colours portray the mood as being boring and quite.
The magazine is called billboards. This name reflects a lot to the content and the target audience of the magazine. It makes the content look as if it is aimed at old people, even though there are artists that have young fans.
The type face looks messy, because there are a lot of them. There are some big and there are some that are small.
The copy has been placed on the right, at the top of the page and in the middle, which makes it look plain, boring and as if there is not a lot of information.
Analysing A Music Magazine 1
The color in this magazine, is dark, but that is good, because the background is black and also Cheryl Cole has red lipstick on, so the red and the black go together and so does the white writing. It is simple and plain, but it does stand out and they do go together. The image is perfect as it stands out and so does the Masthead, but it would have been better if the Masthead was at the back of Cheryl Cole's head, because now the masthead is overlapping on Cheryl's forehead, which looks as if it is in the way. Adding to this, the main image relates a lot to pop music, because Cheryl Cole is a pop artist and even people that do not listen to pop music know that it is a pop music magazine, because the whole of the U.K. have heard of her and seen her. The target audience is mainly for young people, because Cheryl Cole's music is aimed for young people and her picture on the front cover relates to the target audience being young people, more than pop music lovers, because they could be old and probably not that fascinated in Cheryl as young people are. Also, there are strap lines on the magazine, which on the right look as if they are bunched up together and there is a lot of writing.
The magazine is called Q as i have established above. However, even though the image relates to the target audience as young people, the name does not. I get a sense when i read the title that it s more for people that are old, because the name is not striking, its does not say to me that its fun and for young people. Also, the name Q seems to me to be boring, but the only exciting bit is to read about Cheryl Cole, but the rest of the magazine is boring, and thats true as the magazine also has stories and pictures of U2, Paul Weller, the White Stripes, John Lennon etc.
The typeface is really, really bold on the strap lines, which makes the magazine look a bit horrific, if that makes sense, which looks unprofessional, gothic and boring However, on the right the typeface for those strap lines are jumbbled up together and that makes the strap line look messy and unprofessional. However, on the kiker the type face is okay. It makes the magazine, look more professional and striking. It also makes the audience want to read more about what Q have written about Cheryl.
The copy has been placed nearly everywhere on the magazine, at the bottom, centre, left and right. The size is big, which is good for the kiker and the masthead as they stand out. However, on the sraplines, the copy is too small and too big, which makes the magazine look unprofessional and messy. It is very important for the copy to be right as it will change he whole of the magazine. It will make it look professional, attractive and striking.

Main Task- Music Magazine
For my main task, there are many things that i have to do. I have to create a front page, contents page and a double page spread of a music magazine. My music magazine will be P.O.P. which stands for pop, so my music magazine will be a pop magazine.
Everything has to be original, there can be nothing from the internet, so getting the pictures, will be tricky, but i will manage and try by best to get good pictures of artists. I want artists on the magazine, because the magazine is all about pop music and the reader can relate to an artist on the front page. I will also be interviewing an artist on my double page spread.
Front Page
For my front page, the main thing, the image will be of an artist. The mast head will be behind the artist, because it is well known there and it also stands out, because when the reader looks at the image, they will also see the masthead, which is really important.
Prelimary Task- What I am happy with
There are many things that i am happy with, via my prelimary task. I am happy, with the writing, colors and the professioniality of both with the front page and the contents page. I am also happy with the little images on my front page and the mage on my contents page.
Prelimary Task- What I could do to improve
To be honest, there are not many things that i would do, to improve my front and contents page. The one thing that i could improve on is the picture of my front page. The picture does look a bit blurry and i do not think there is the rule in the picture.
On my contents page, i think that the page itself could have been bigger, so i could put more on there, as that's what I initially wanted to do.
Prelimary Task
For this task, i had to make sure that the front page, of the magazine looks, unique, professional, approachable and good. I had to make sure, just like my contents page that the mast head stands out, so i had to make sure that the color for the mast head stands out. Also, i had to make sure that there is little, but not too little, writing on my front cover, because otherwise, there would be too much information and then the front cover will look crowded. I also had to make sure that thee is an appropriate kicker, so it will also stand out, but not as much as the mast head. adding to this, i needed to make sure that the writing on the kicker was clear and had an appropriate font size. In order for this to happen i had to use photo shop.
Prelimary Task
In order for me to have a good contents page, i had to make sure that the sentences were not too far apart and not too close. Also, i had to make sure that the mast head color is right, so it can stand out , so it will catch the reader's attention as soon as they see the page. Also, i had to decide, what image will look best and appropriate for the contents page, so it will look good, professional and unique.
